• Porto Airport, praised by its passengers, has won the ACI award for Best Airport in the European Region in the 5 to 15 million passengers category
• ACI's ASQ ranking, the main passenger experience assessment programme

Francisco Sá Carneiro was recognised for the thirteenth time in the ASQ ranking for 2019, released today by ACI (Airport Council International), for its high standard of service quality.

Based on passenger satisfaction measurements, this ranking is a global benchmark for airport service quality.

This award is the result of the opinion of the passengers in a year when the airport exceeded the 13 million passenger mark, inaugurating 10 new destinations and welcoming 5 new airlines. Porto, the largest airport in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, is also one of the airports that has won most awards, with this being its 13th award in the last 14 years.

“This award is particularly significant for us in a year when long-haul traffic increased 40% and total growth was 9.8%. The attractiveness of the region, the operational standard and the investments made have allowed Porto Airport to continue its sustainable growth and being a positive experience for passengers”, according to Thierry Ligonnière, CEO of ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal - VINCI Airports.

Fernando Vieira, Director of Porto Airport, added: “This award is an excellent distinction and international recognition of the work the team at this airport has been doing in all the services we provide. The commitment the airport staff bring to their work every day is reflected in the quality of the services our passengers know and assess”.
