"Smiling Day 2016”

An opportunity for passengers to learn about airport activities

On April 8, 25 airports in the VINCI Airports network are participating in a day-long event where passengers and airport staff come into contact with each other and share a moment of pleasure. The 2016 event will include a new, interactive concept.

For VINCI Airports, an airport is not just infrastructure but a place where life goes on and all kinds of professional expertise come together to serve passengers.

Its airports in France, Portugal, Cambodia and, for the first time, in Chile, are organizing “Smiling Day,” VINCI Airports’ flagship event for customer care, loyalty-building and passenger services.

On Smiling Day, all airport staff, no matter what their job, reach out to passengers and offer them an especially friendly welcome. In 2015, almost 130,000 passengers departing or arriving on 980 flights were greeted by 900 employees.

The 2016 event will include a new competition on the topic of learning about airport activities. Those airports with their own Facebook page (Nantes, Rennes, Clermont-Ferrand, Grenoble, Chambéry, Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Madeira, Azores, the three Cambodian airports and Santiago de Chile) will invite passengers to have their photograph taken with a member of staff. The photographs will then be displayed on the airports’ Facebook pages and VINCI Airports’ Instagram account, where fans will be able to vote for the best photo.

Held annually since 2012, Smiling Day embodies VINCI Airports’ desire to offer passengers a unique level of quality of service, with the goal of paying close attention to passengers’ expectations in order to offer them innovative services and make their customer experience ever smoother and more pleasant.
